FROSINONE, Italy — In a major step forward for Italy’s economic diplomacy, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has announced the finalization of a strategic agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina) and Unioncamere. The announcement was made during the official inauguration of the new Frosinone-Latina Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Frosinone.
Under the milestone pact, Unioncamere’s massive network—which connects and represents six million Italian businesses—will be fully integrated into the nation’s core export team. It will work in tandem with key national agencies and financial institutions, including the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), SACE, SIMEST, and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP). This unified front is designed to enhance the operational capacity of “Sistema Italia,” providing cohesive and reinforced support for corporate exports and internationalization.
The domestic chamber system and Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad play an increasingly vital role in the “growth diplomacy” framework spearheaded by the Farnesina. This collaborative approach has already delivered measurable success; last year, the network facilitated more than 50 business missions and entrepreneurial forums, directly supporting over 7,500 companies.
The momentum is slated to intensify throughout the year. Dozens of international trade events and business matching forums have already been successfully executed in the opening months of 2026, with a robust calendar of additional initiatives scheduled to follow to further accelerate the global expansion of Italian brands.
