Sardinia needs no introduction, especially for the sophisticated American traveler. It is that ancient land where the turquoise water challenges Caribbean postcards and where true luxury hides in the privacy of coves inaccessible by land. However, in the high-end nautical tourism segment, natural beauty is no longer enough: the service must match the five-star hospitality offered on the mainland.
It is in this context, precisely along the coast of Pula (Cagliari), that the MLP Nautica project takes shape. Founded in 2021, this entity is not limited to boat rentals; it positions itself as a true “marine lifestyle hub.” The keystone of the project lies in a unique strategic synergy: on one side, the operational collaboration with Forte Village Resort, a global icon of luxury hospitality; on the other, the technical solidity of Teknoship S.r.l., a historic naval mechanical workshop.
Engineering at the Service of Emotion
To understand how a seamless nautical experience is built, we met with Federico Trani, leader of Teknoship S.r.l. and strategic partner of this project. His company, founded in 1995, represents the invisible but essential “engine” that guarantees absolute safety at sea for MLP Nautica’s guests.
Federico, the charter market is often crowded. What was the vision that led to the birth of MLP Nautica, and how does Teknoship’s solid technical experience fit into this lifestyle project?
“It all starts with a careful analysis of the Sardinian territory on two levels: the touristic-commercial one and the sensitivity to change. Sardinia is undergoing significant evolution, both in the type of visitors it welcomes and in the development of activities that diverge from tradition. Global dynamics today require the ability to carve out new vital spaces. While the island boasts historic icons like the Costa Smeralda or the Maddalena Archipelago, tourist flows are progressively shifting South: in the next five years, we foresee the center of interest moving decisively towards the Cagliari area. This is confirmed by significant investments, especially foreign, aimed at revitalizing local tourism strongholds. Our friends at MLP Nautica were able to intercept and anticipate the demand of this emerging market. Teknoship, for its part, had been looking for an entry into the yachting sector for some time, and this partnership represented the ideal opportunity to invest in a quality project.”

A Fleet Designed for the Mediterranean
MLP Nautica’s approach is, by definition, sartorial. Forget standardized fleets: here, the selection of vessels responds to criteria of aesthetics and performance typical of “Made in Italy.” The fleet includes jewels like the G-Tenders (models 8.7 and 10) and the Cayman 27 Sport Touring.
These boats are chosen not only for their beauty but for their ability to navigate the Mediterranean with stability and comfort. For the international client accustomed to the highest standards, this translates into versatile “day cruisers”: perfect for reaching secret beaches unreachable by the crowds or enjoying a sunset in total privacy, supported by a tendering and yacht service that guarantees absolute confidentiality even for megayacht owners transiting the area.
The American traveler choosing Italy seeks authenticity and exclusivity. How does the collaboration with a giant like Forte Village Resort elevate the guest experience, and what distinguishes your private excursions from traditional tourist offers?
“The excursion must be authentic, deeply Sardinian. Often, those visiting the island risk being absorbed by mass tourism that does not allow them to grasp the nuances of this wonderful land. Our charter service aims to combine luxury and attention to detail with the rawest, most authentic soul of South Sardinia. Our guest is not a simple client but is welcomed like a friend on a family Sunday trip: we accompany them to discover backstories and unique places that are otherwise inaccessible. The goal is not to make them feel like users of a service, but an integral part of Sardinian life and culture.”

Safety: The True Luxury is Reliability
In the boating world, true luxury is the absence of unforeseen events. The strategic partnership with Teknoship S.r.l. eliminates the technical unknown at the source. Having a workshop specialized in the maintenance and overhaul of marine engines behind you means that every vessel is maintained at excellent operational standards. It is not just a matter of mechanics, but of “peace of mind”: the guarantee that the day at sea will be dedicated solely to relaxation and discovery.
Looking to the future and considering the growing interest of the international market in Sardinia, what are the next objectives for MLP Nautica to maintain the high standards of excellence and reliability that distinguish you?
“The primary objective is to continue weaving a network of strong brands around the sartorial idea that is the heart of MLP Nautica. Teknoship will continue to invest in services, supporting the partner in maintenance and, prospectively, in the expansion of the fleet. The guiding principle is not to lose our essence: nature itself teaches us balance, and being at the service of this balance will be our winning card in the new market. We must remain lucid and precise in our attention to detail, continuing to organize custom-made experiences that have the warmth of a family day out, without limiting ourselves to passively following market requests. The tourist must feel at home, protected, and must perceive the importance of respecting the territory and its nature.”
As the sun sets over the crystalline waters of Pula, it becomes clear that MLP Nautica is not simply selling hours of navigation. It sells the freedom to live the Mediterranean in its purest form, supported by a structure that combines the art of hospitality with the science of navigation. A mix that promises to become the new benchmark for nautical tourism in South Sardinia.
